MS Outlook - Contacting the Server Popup Issue - Solution

Problem

Getting a ‘Contacting the server for information’ message when we clicks on emails.

Solution 

This can have 2 causes:

1. Outlook is having trouble downloading external images from the emails. You can solve this in the Trust Center:

Go to File Menu
Choose “Options”
Click on last menu “Trust Center” from left-hand side
Click on “Trust Center Settings” button
Check Off “Don’t download pictures automatically in HTML e-mail message or RSS items”

 2) Outlook is contacting ssl.gstatic.com, this sometimes happens when Gmail users send mail to Exchange mailboxes. Make sure this url is not blocked in your firewall.
