Founders spend hours on product, systems, funnels.

Almost zero time on their team.

That's backward.

One of the reasons we've been over to grow Digistore24 to over $1B in sales, is because we understand your people are your system.

If they don't know why they're there, how decisions get made, or who owns what, you're running on friction.

7 tools for building high-performing teams:

1. Start With Why (Simon Sinek)

Why before what or how.
People show up for reasons bigger than money.

2. The 70-20-10 Rule

70% from experience
20% from coaching
10% from training

Most teams over-train, under-develop.

3. The Trust Triangle (Frances Frei)

Authenticity. Logic. Empathy.
No trust, no speed.

4. The 5 Stages of Team Development (Tuckman)

Forming. Storming. Norming. Performing. Adjourning.
Don't skip the storming phase.

5. The Johari Window

Self-awareness is a team sport.
Feedback beats blind spots.

6. The Energy/Impact Matrix

Energy vs. impact for every team member.
Hire smart. Spot burnout early.

7. The RAPID Decision-Making Model (Bain)

Recommend. Agree. Perform. Input. Decide.
Kills delays and confusion.

Great teams need structure, trust, execution.

1.Team Avoids Raising Blockers

• No one flags issues in stand-ups or retrospectives but work is stalled.
• What it means: Lack of ownership.

2. Low Participation in Agile Ceremonies

• Quiet dailies, rushed planning, skipped retros.
• What it means: Engagement is dropping or team sees little value in process.

3. Backlog Becomes a Parking Lot

• Hundreds of stories or bugs pile up with no clear priority.
• What it means: Weak product ownership or delivery-team disconnect.

4. Same Issues Keep Reappearing in Retrospectives
• Rework, testing delays, or environment issues are discussed but never resolved.
• What it means: Action items are not tracked, or leadership is ignoring root causes.

5. One or Two People Are Always the Firefighters
• Critical knowledge or delivery relies on a few overworked individuals.
• What it means: Skill imbalance, siloed expertise, and high burnout risk.

6. Test Automation Is Stalled or Nonexistent
• Manual testing eats up sprint time; production bugs increase.
• What it means: Tech debt is being ignored and release quality is at risk.

7. “It’s Not My Job” Mindset
• Engineers reject test cases, QA won’t clarify business logic, DevOps avoids team syncs.
• What it means: Team lacks shared accountability - collaboration is broken.

Leading today means moving past generational labels.

The workplace has never felt this layered...

Four generations, all with unique priorities, motivators,
and ways they choose to communicate.

If you’ve sensed this friction, you’re definitely not alone:

→ Some want regular feedback
→ Others expect occasional check-ins
→ A few engage in group formats
→ Many focus best when solo

Here’s what each generation values most:

🟢 Boomers (12%)
→ Priorities: Loyalty, structure, contribution
→ Drive: Appreciation, consistency, lasting value
→ Lead with: Respecting wisdom, set clear plans

🔵 Gen X (27%)
→ Priorities: Control and results
→ Drive: Freedom, mastery
→ Lead with: Offering space, trusting results

🔴 Millennials (34%)
→ Priorities: Learning, freedom, meaningful work
→ Drive: Growth, feedback, deeper purpose
→ Lead with: Honest feedback, mentor often, show direction

🟡 Gen Z (27%)
→ Priorities: Diversity and impact
→ Drive: Being valued, trusted, doing good
→ Lead with: Building trust, welcoming ideas

Many managers default to treating everyone equally.
But strong leadership adapts to who’s in the room.
